Scholarship

The sisters of Rho Delta strive for academic achievement and success. We are students first and, as such, we promote a high level of academic success within our organization. Our Academic Excellence Chairwoman strives to create academic programs that will benefit each and every woman within our chapter, as we believe that sisters who study together succeed together.

The foundation of our academic programming is based on the needs of ours sisters. We strive to create fun, entertaining programs that teach sisters study and time management skills. These include having monthly study sisterhoods, pairing sisters with compatible college majors to be study buddies, encouraging sisters to utilize the library as a resource in our “Letters in the Lib” program, and hosting study hours proctored by members of our executive committee. We even have a tutoring program within our chapter to help sisters in need of academic assistance.

Our chapter house basement is a common study spot and filled with study resources and materials to help our sisters in note taking, academic planning, and preparing for their future careers. Often on Sunday's you can catch our sisters studying together here. We strongly encourage sisters to meet with their academic advisers and career coaches, and provide them with resources on how to get academic assistance (such as tutoring services, math help desk, writing center, etc.) and always offer academic support.

At the beginning of each semester, our academic excellence chairwoman and her committee meet with every sister to help write academic goals. Around midterms, we reassess these goals and make necessary changes to make sure sisters are staying on track and reach and the goals they want to achieve in order to be academically successful. As sisters, we try to motivate each other during tough academic times like midterms and finals. Sisters who reach their goals or receive academic honors such as being placed on the Honors list (formally Dean’s List [3.5 and above,]) and President’s list (4.0) are recognized for all their hard work.

Academics are the foundation of our educational programming and one of the key values of our organization. We believe that supporting and motivating each other not only strengthens our sisterhood but also helps our sisters reach their full potential as academic scholars.

In Fall 2018, we ranked number 8 out of 30 for the highest GPA on campus out of all Greek Life! We had three sisters received 4.0's and 13 sisters received a 3.5 or higher GPA. We are so proud of all of them for taking pride in their academics.
